We are ramping up for a fun Christmas season this year! Today there was garland going up in the aisles and many crafty/artistic young people decorating their favorite horse’s stall.  It didn’t start out as a contest but it may turn in to one!  Anyone can join in on this fun, just sign up on the board by the wash stall with which stall you’re decorating and get it done before the Christmas party.

DSC00821The Christmas party will be on Saturday, 12/16/17, at about 1:00 in the afternoon.  There will be lots of food, sign up to bring your favorite dish to the pot luck!  As always we’ll have games for the kids and presents for Kathy & JR.  There is a secret Santa gift exchange for the young people.  If you want to participate please fill out a card and place it in the envelope before noon on 12/2/17.  The spending limit for the exchange is $15.

Christmas/Winter Camp will be Wed-Fri, 12/27-12/29/17.  Children can come for daytime only or spend the night. The kids have a great time learning about horses, how to take care of them, riding them and of course hanging out with their friends! (This makes a very nice Christmas present if you’re looking for a special gift for the young rider in your life.)

Coming soon to the website:  a video series with JR Holland training a young horse.

DSC00789(1)We ended 2016 with a fun Christmas party.  We had food and games, opened presents and then played some horse games.  Everyone had a great time!

Winter camp was good as always.  There were quite a few kids, some for day camp and some over nighters.  All of them learned more about horsemanship, made good progress on their riding and had a fun time.  They all went home tired, mission accomplished!

DSC00625The 2017 show season is off to a great start.  There have been 2 shows at Chagrin Valley so far, one in December and one in January.  Anna and James, Faye and Mia, Madison and Rocket, and Natalie and Mia rode well at both shows.  Travis and Miles came to the January show and did well.  At both shows the Still Waters riders brought home some nice ribbons including Champion and Reserve for some.  It was a very proud moment for us when the Still Waters riders placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in one Short Stirrup class in January!  We called them the 3 Amigos.

The calendar page has been updated with horse shows we’ll probably go to, camp dates and even a Still Waters schooling show coming in April.  Be sure to check the dates and update your own calendars so you don’t miss out on anything.
